'Pugmill has been a wonderfully relaxing place to stay. There’s a brave little lapwing trying to hatch some eggs in the field at the front, despite the best efforts of the local kestrel. Hannah’s wood, a short walk from the cottage, is full of spring flowers and juniper, quite rare in this part of the country. Grumbling red squirrels are seemingly unafraid of humans! Why did we wait 35 years to return to Northumberland? Stunningly beautiful coast and countryside which we’ve enjoyed to the full, with the perfect base at Pugmill to return home to at the end of the day.
